In 1959 he moved to Paris where he attended the workshop of graphic art of William Hayter at Atelier 17, and studied mosaic with Gino Severini. His habitual attendance of young surrealist artists would influence his playing works of the ‘60s. His works in these years are often quotations of painters from’900 to Pop. Later on he started using unconventional materials like sugar. In 1970 the King series was born. In 1985 began the cycle bound up with his journeys to the East. In 1993 during the Venice Biennial he exhibited the renowned painting depicting dancing dervishes.
