Exponent of the Fluxus Group, she studied cello at the age of ten and pursued the Bachelor of Art in music in 1955. After beginning a traditional concert hall career, she was soon drawn into the active mixed-media performance art scene. She became a close collaborator of Korean Nam June Paik, with whom she worked on international level. She also collaborated with John Cage, Joseph Beuys, Yoko Ono, Carolee Schneemann, Jim McWilliams and other Fluxus artists.
