Giulio Turcato (Mantova, 1912- Roma, 1995)

Follower of the abstractism, he studied in Venice and worked in Milan and Rome. He participated in 1947 to the editing of the Formalist Manifesto and later he shared the experience of the Fronte nuovo delle Arti (1948) and the Group of Eight (1952), approaching the informal. Well known are the Cangianti series, characterized by sanded, marbled and luminescent surfaces.
In the 80s he started to deal also with stage design.
