Giuseppe Capogrossi (Roma, 1900 –1972)
In 1949 he founded the group “Origine” with Burri, Ballocco and Colla.
In 1950 he moved towards Abstractionism.
He signed in 1953 the IV Manifesto Spazialista together with Fontana, Dove and Crippa. In this period he elaborated his typical language based on always-different combinations of a unique and personal graphic sign. The ensemble and the variations of these signs build a graphic alphabet, variously articulated.
