Jean Dupuy

He was born in Moulins (France) in 1925.
He lives and works in Pierrefeu (France).

He was born painter and devoted himself to performance in 1973, he organized in his study of New York group shows to which friends of the Fluxus group used to take part. His works are like thoughts and sentences written on pieces of cloth, paper or tv screens. The apparent “disorder” always keeps an authenticity grade, capable of “dangerously but miraculously” approaching life and art. The irony winding among the sentences written on any support, seems to symbolically deny “the modern autonomous and rational object of his artistic action”, contrasting the mass media and their targets and being ironic on their communicative potentiality
