PERIOD: 11 OCTOBER - 29 NOVEMBER 2003

Inaugurated, saturday the 11th of October 2003 at 18:30, the solo exhibition by ANTONELLA BERSANI titled Dream…of a spring night (Sogno…di una notte di primavera). Organized by Gianluca Marziani, this exhibition was developed in close collaboration with the gallery, regulating every sculpture on the architectural tensions of the space and on the empathetic relation between the works, almost as though they were plastic particles of a relational vision of a mutant nature.

In the main exhibition hall the artist recreates an interior from clearly wooded tones. Imagine the archetype of a room for relaxing and sleeping: armchair, bed, console, clothes stand, lamp and a bird cage. Their iron skeletons are a flowing tangle of branches and leaves that extend and knot themselves, becoming colourful and climbing thing that transforms the forest green in a pure rainbow emotion. Rose comfit, fucsia rose, orange, acid green, lilac: colours that mix themselves in the development of the cloth, velvet, chenille and sponge. Feminine materials and tactical density with which the handicraft of sewing reinvent the cerebral epidermis of sensitivity.

But something between the furniture creates new tensions: and it's a swollen body hanging by a lamp. Referring to one of fleshy fruits that Bersani models for several years now. A soft volume from the dominant roses, suspended in the organic ambiguity of it's openings ad protrusions. The membrane plays with the clear vaginal callings, reproductive tensions, surfaces of indirect bodily harshness. A hypnotic trip in the transfigured femininity, in the mental vision that recounts life's beginnings , the generative invasion that invades the lifeless objects and makes them vital. The same principle that we find between the leaves of the sculpture: and there rising, in the middle of the flowing braches, a corporeal bud that resends the beginning of a particular DNA. Almost an organic photosynthesis in which the creativity imagines the world with a poem that the science doesn't know and that technology doesn't have.

In the other rooms different works await us that increase the pathos and declare the connection between art and the outside world confirming that everything starts from a fleshy archetype. Some of the photographs delve in to the detail of the by now abstract of the organic forms. Four panoramic rooms reconstruct, instead, the private areas of the artist. Until we meet a small room that contains a large organic form, declaring the fetal beginning of the project, her amniotic nature that stretches the wait towards the sprouting of the floral life.

The first room, at last, indicates the opening of this night dream and spring. We are welcomed by a table prepared with cake and sweets coloured with pastel tones. A convivial space where we flush out another corporeal fragment and a chair that begins sprouting. Reaffirming how everything comes from the space of everyday life, on the skin of our mutated objects. Notice from the forms that dress with unexpected clothing of the most flourishing nature.
