After the symbolic date of 1968, not by chance corresponding to social movements and youth of the square that characterized the entire west, and the materialization of art with the various conceptual currents that, however they searched for
connecting moments with the political rebellion and the customs of the period, started the accelerated entry in a new productive and relational dimension characterized by the penetrating technology. This caused a gradual but inevitable sunset of traditional industry as it was understood, the losses of the antique occupational certainty, the introduction of "flexibility" with which they will have to confront most importantly all the younger generations, from 30 and below, but also a minor level of productive alienation, that signifies more space to fantasy and to creativity, and the expansion of free time at everyone's disposal, from which comes the possibility to give space to proper cultural interests. All this was seen in the thirty years after sociologically analyzing the diffused states nature, with a mix of profound anguish and euphoric feverish. From one side then a sense of emptiness for the loss of the traditional points of reference, after the fall of the
Berlin wall which was also ideological, to another sort of excitement for the sparkle of the technological world, for the virtual reality, for those by now predominate definitive of the image on the "logos" that confirmed the not listened to intuition of Guy Debord in predicating, in times not yet suspect, the event of the "Society of the Show". All of this did not miss generating effects in the art world. As in all the seasons of passing, naturally with modality never the same unto itself, the corresponding effect of this profound traumatic mutations of the social fabric was up of one general plan accented in Italy from problems relative to our system of the arts in which in the circumstances didn't turn my attention.
I've done in various other occasions, for the observation this of style and tendency in which it was extremely difficult, and partly impossible, to find a lead, a sort in the 90's, where everything demonstrated to the umpteenth power. The post modernity, understanding not in the refusing acceptance, but in that language of common use where it assumes the function vaguely pejorative of attitudes tendency brief it's also
tied up to the extreme consequences and hence, at this point, must inevitably demonstrate something new. Then it could be appropriate to start to discuss of a possible, "new contemporarity" Naturally we are at the beginning of this umpteenth mutation of the skin of the art and also the point of views are often different, sometimes contrary and they remember the antique division
of Umberto Eco, at the beginning of the 69's between "apocalypse" and "integrated".
